The apartment, on the first floor of a ‘casa di ringhiera’ in Nolo district, had lost all its characteristic elements over the years. The presence of multiple openings suggested to move the distribution space along the facade: the continuity of the spaces is now emphasized by a bright corridor, with a rhythmic presence of four windows which are giving an even spread of light. A full-height sliding door can interrupt the corridor to allow the separation of the bedroom.

The exposed steel beam becomes a decorative element of the living area and a figurative partition between the living room and the kitchen. The focal point is the kitchen island, covered in sage-colored three-dimensional tiles, regulating both spaces and functions.

A full-height passage in the corridor leads to a space defined by bold colors. The closet is hidden behind a curtain with a geometric pattern, while a flush door in the rust-colored wall leads to the bathroom. In the bathroom, the tile cladding in two sizes and colors regulates all the geometries of the space: a large shower with a bench and a washbasin top complemented by a full-wall mirror which doubles up the space. The apartment sets up the combination of contemporary pieces of furniture with design classics, all connected by a uniform oak floor laid in a French herringbone pattern.
