BIKINI is the pop-up store designed by KICK.OFFICE on the occasion of Milan Design Week to host BibiLab, a pastry laboratory founded by Benedetta. With its iconic and compact shape, BIKINI can turn from an object into a mini-architecture thanks to its two-part splitting and an adaptable interior equipment.
Inspired by the most iconic conception of the ‘house’, the mobile module has simple and familiar geometry that makes it a lovable and attractive object. Due to the use of color, also, BIKINI becomes recognizable and almost a signal in the urban setting. With its iconic and compact shape, BIKINI can turn from an object into a mini-architecture: once opened, it is able to generate a new place of interaction where everyone is welcome and where the border between the inside and the outside becomes flexible.
BIKINI was created to host sales and consumption spaces. The interior is stocked with adaptable equipment: the folding table and modular stools create the necessary space for a brief break in the shade of a tent. For the first time KICK.OFFICE has experimented the design of a traveling module by utilizing its expertise in creating living spaces and applying the same level of attention to detail and personality.
BIKINI was manufactured through the collaboration with Falegnameria Bini, a committed partner of the studio. The technical ability in woodworking and attention to detail, together with a good dose of love and enthusiasm, were fundamental for the realization of the project.
